EDUCATION
UNIVERSITY OF CALIFORNIA, BERKELEY (May 2013 –December 2016)
PHD. STUDENT IN CIVIL AND ENVIRONMENTAL ENGINEERING
UNIVERSITY OF CALIFORNIA, BERKELEY (August 2009 –May 2013)
B.S. AND M.S. IN CIVIL AND ENVIRONMENTAL ENGINEERING
DOCTORAL RESEARCH
Advisor: Steven Glaser
• Develop and deployed world largest and smartest (WSN) for hydrologic monitoring at high-elevation mountain;
• Evaluated and continuously improved the performance of the network deployed;
• Use machine learning algorithms to estimate network connection strength to guarantee network performance;
• Building application models using real-time data for water resource forecasts;
WORK EXPERIENCE
Postdoctoral Researcher (January 2018 to Current)
At INRIA-Pairs, lead and conducted the SmartMarina project in Southern France to develop business-ready smart infrastructure products.
Partner of Metronome systems (January 2017 to Current)
Collaborate with hardware and software engineers and contractors to conduct R&D projects in the startup company.
Graduate Student Researcher (August 2012 to December 2016)
Leader and Supervisor of research activities involving student interns. Managing and conducting field work in the wilderness to install wireless sensor network. Collaborating with researchers and staff from other universities.
Engineering Aid (March 2012 to August 2012)
Performing critical hardware design for a research project under Professor Steven Glaser. Collaborating with other students and interns to develop new data acquisition platform for sensors on the wireless network.
Intern Engineering Designer (May 2011 to March 2012)
Working as a student intern designer at San Francisco Public Utility Commissions handling customer request of redesigning city owned infrastructures. Respond to citizen’s calls for emergency due to city infrastructure malfunctioning. Assigning work orders to city field crew to work on a daily basis. Helped supervisors conducted a cost analysis on some infrastructure acquisitions proposal.
Student Intern Researcher (June 2009 to August 2009)
Collaborate with student groups of different functions to improve the performance of earthquake science software SCEC-VDO. My task is to create 3D visualizations of historical earthquake events.
